For me, the finer things in life include fluffy robes, dim lit rooms and a full body Swedish massage. I like to indulge whenever I can, so I thought I’d share some of my spoils with you. Here’s a full review of my time at The Westin’s Heavenly Spa in Cape Town.
The Westin hotels are synonymous with 5-star service and classy experiences – my spa treatment was all of that and more.
Situated on the 19th floor of the Westin Hotel, Heavenly Spa oozes luxury from the moment you arrive. After checking in, my treatment started in the dressing room. I swapped my clothes for a robe and slippers, and when I was done I headed for relaxation area where I waited for the experience to really begin.
Here, waiting didn’t mean sitting around bored out of my mind, it was actually such a treat. I chilled in the comfy couches and admired the view of Cape Town through the glass windows. The 19th floor is pretty high up so the view was spectacular. While I sat back, I nibbled on the snacks and juice. Whether you’re in the mood for a mini quiche or a breakfast bar, their snack counter is well stocked with delicious bites to eat. They also offered me freshly squeezed juice which I think really added to the detoxing experience.
From there I was introduced to my masseuse and taken to my room for my selected treatment. I choose a Swedish massage and really enjoyed the pressure that was applied. I felt like they knew exactly what they were doing and I was totally relaxed the entire time.
After my treatment I had the option between a shower, more snacks PLUS the use of their facilities – let’s just say I enjoyed all three in no particular order. The lap pool, jacuzzi and sauna room overlooking the city was a highlight for me.
This is the perfect place to be if you’d like to enjoy an entire day out just unwinding. Between your treatment, your time in the jacuzzi and the sauna, you can easily pass a good couple of hours at Heavenly Spa.
