The Commodore Hotel is pretty tucked away in the Waterfront area – but that only adds to its appeal as a tranquil escape in the middle of a bustling city.
When you step into the hotel you’re instantly immersed into the dark classical decor of the space. It’s old-world luxury with 21st Century touches. If you arrive early for your treatment, take time to enjoy the stone courtyard. My Mom and I soaked up the sun and chatted about how the dreaming outdoor seating felt like we were in France instead of the Mother City.
Once you’re ready to head up to the spa, the receptionist will be more than happy to show you where to find the lift. On the 2nd floor, more smiles and lemon infused water awaits. I really love these little details – it kicks off the session on the right note making you feel special while someone serves you.
Once your masseuse is ready for you, you’re taken through a passageway that leads to a tranquil space with more lush couches, scented candles, and dim lighting. You’re then finally taken to your massage room where you can undress and prepare to be pampered. For the first time ever, I actually fell asleep during my treatment – that’s never happened before and says a lot about the space, the people and the level of service!
